Rachel began working in March 2019 as a staff writer for County News, a bi-weekly newspaper affiliated with the National Association of Counties in Washington D.C. As a staff writer, Rachel reports on a variety of topics related to county governments, writes feature columns, pitches story ideas and copy edits.
WFMZ-TV
on breaking news, reviewed phone and email news tips and monitored scanners. She also wrote broadcast scripts and helped produce newscasts.
Rachel began working at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pa. in July 2018 under a short-term contract. While employed, she worked in multiple positions as a web producer, assignment editor and producer. Rachel wrote articles and generated content for the website, managed the content on WFMZ's social media pages, checked for updates on developing stories, gathered information
The Rachel Maddow Show
Rachel interned at MSNBC with The Rachel Maddow Show in New York, N.Y. during the Fall of 2017. She worked with producers and production assistants logging tapes, downloading videos and following breaking news stories. Rachel also fact checked show segments and sent corrections to producers. She also monitored the show's email account, attended budget meetings, pitched graphic ideas, worked in the control room to assist the director with scripts and anchor produced.
E! News
Rachel interned at NBCUniversal with E! News in the summer of 2017 in Los Angeles, Calif. As a production intern, she worked with production assistants and producers to search archives for footage, sound bytes and photos. Additionally, Rachel helped with research, scripts and during field shoots where she took notes for producers and conducted red carpet interviews.
Berks Community Television
Rachel interned at Berks Community Television, a non-profit television station in Reading, Pa. in the summer of 2015. She did many tasks both in and out of the studio including updating the community bulletin, filming and editing packages, assisting talent and guests, operating cameras, audio equipment, serving as a stage manager and directing. Rachel often multitasked in the control room by operating the audio board, switcher board, directing and managing talent simultaneously.
