​​​​Rachel Looker

I am a currently working as a digital journalist at BBC News based in Washington, D.C. I previously reported for USA TODAY as a Congress and Campaigns reporter. In July 2022, I earned a master’s degree in investigative journalism and public affairs from American University while simultaneously working as a fellow for USA TODAY's politics and investigative teams. There, I produced two 

investigative stories and covered campaign finance, voting rights legislation, political extremism, House campaigns, the one year anniversary of the Jan. 6 insurrection and the Jan. 6 committee hearings. 

My previous reporting focused on how decisions on Capitol Hill impact county governments on issues related to health, economic development, infrastructure, public safety, the environment and elections. 

 

I have worked in broadcast journalism producing for a local TV station and as an intern at both The Rachel Maddow Show in New York and E! News in Los Angeles. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media and Broadcast Journalism from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
